The Market Is Picking Up Steam

An unofficial poll of local CPS agents this past week indicated that the market in Lake County is picking up steam. There just might be a equilibrium developing between buyer's expectations and seller's pricing. With interest rates still low and prices much better, it's beginning to look like it's going to be an active spring and summer here. Those of us in the business day to day tend to see changes in the market long before the press ever takes notice. Thanks for reading, I'll write again soon.

BUYER'S REJOICE!

There has been a great deal of negative news this past week or so. Home sales are down and prices are moderating. I agree with everything they're saying, except that IT'S NOT BAD NEWS, IT'S GOOD NEWS! What they're telling us is that it's a great buyer's market right now. How long will it last? Not forever.

Let's look at current interest rates, they are historically low! Such low interest rates increase your buying power and lower your long term loan payments. Let's look at prices, They are better now than they have been for the past three or four years! Let's look at overall sales, they are down while inventory is up. What does it mean when a market has too much inventory and slow sales? Prices drop! BUYER'S REJOICE! THE MARKET IS GREAT!
